It’s all about the balance-and David Burke’s got it all. Let’s start with appetizers: Tuna Tartare Tacos are freshly prepared in bite sizes, Rabbit & Foie Gras Terrine is to die for, and Angry Octopus was superbly, saltily juicy.
I’ve decided wednesdays should be the landmark day to visit David Burke Kitchen since it is the only day Crackling Pork Shank is served as a daily special-the skin resembles brûlée finish, crackling every tear of the way and the inside packs all things tender. But frankly, my best pick of David Burke Kitchen is Short Rib and Cavatelli with a side of Wild Mushroom (with a touch of truffle cream, I was left with no choice but to splurge on extra portion of mushroom).
Oh, and you will dig… and dig… and dig your Monkey Pie with extra scoops of unsweetened whipped cream. And it has a generous portion for at least six!
