Before heading to New York, the most essential meal of the day was not to be missed: brunch!  White Dog Cafe reminded me of a Shakespearean era theatre where everything is draped in velvet.  But the food here was nothing ancient, it was comfort.  When I looked at the menu, my eyes were dead set on the breakfast-style hoagie. This was not your typical hoagie with mass loads of veggies and ham slices, no no no- it was graciously substituted with scrambled egg and bacon.  I had to try.  White Dog Cafe’s antiquated interior had me think that such traditional place would only serve traditional dishes; wrong again.  White Dog Cafe had diverse takes on everything I’ve tried, drawing a sharp contrast from my initial anticipation. One more thing, Harvest Quencher = Autumn in your mouth. Perfect complement to any dishes served.
